If you're a fan of television then you could do a lot worse than tune in to this television show, "Popatron", on Saturday.
Not only is it rare to find a legitimate sitcom aired on a Saturday lunchtime amongst the usual nightmarish miasma of Grand Prix qualifying and T4 Hollyoaks reruns, but it's also rare to find a television show written by one of my mates aired on television at any time, ever. In history.
Of course, it's possible that Famous Jon isn't your mate yet. All I can say to that is, "sure, but I expect you'll want him to be once you realise that he's now a successful BBC 2 daytime sitcom writer."
With Popatron due to air for the next 6 weeks (failing a disastrous cancellation) Saturday mornings/lunchtimes look set to be a fun-packed few hours. Start yourself off at 10:00 with some Saturday Kitchen madness (if you don't already, you really must follow the #saturdaykitchen action on Twitter) followed by Nigella Lawson's massive cookery tips. Time for a spot of lunch, and then while away half an hour watching Popatron and enjoying the knowledge that, if you don't already, you'll shortly class Famous Jon as one of your close personal friends.
